The most useful security improvements solve everyday problems: managing access, seeing what happened after dark or making sure an alarm is set. This edition looks at a new software announcement and recent releases relevant to East London homes, businesses and managed buildings.
Paxton PaxLock Pro2: make authorised entry easier
Paxton’s redesigned PaxLock Pro2 combines electronic access control with a battery-powered door handle. It supports standalone operation or integration with Net2 and Paxton10; smartphone credentials are supported with Paxton10.
Before choosing: Check door and lock compatibility and the system configuration required. Paxton has announced the launch; confirm supplier stock for your project.

Help your cameras see more after dark
Axis has introduced the D5210-E white-light and D5211-E infrared illuminators. These are lighting accessories for compatible camera installations.

Availability: Distribution was planned for Q4 2026. UK stock, camera compatibility and positioning need confirmation.
Ajax automatic arming: a backup when someone forgets
Ajax’s inactivity-based arming can set the alarm after selected devices detect no activity for a configured period, then notify users.
Before enabling: No detected movement does not necessarily mean nobody is inside. Configure the feature around occupancy and confirm hub and software compatibility.

EVVA cylinders: another option for existing Banham locks
Aldridge introduced EVVA EPS and ICS restricted-key cylinders designed for Banham L2000 and M2002 locks.
Before choosing: Check the lock model, cylinder arrangement and process for authorising extra keys. Confirm current supplier availability.

AXIS OS 13: protection behind the camera
Axis outlined stronger default security measures in AXIS OS 13, including HTTPS-only connections, password requirements and verification of signed applications.
Before updating: Ask whether your devices support the release and whether your recording software remains compatible. The announcement does not establish immediate availability for every model.
Choosing a security upgrade
Do I need to replace my whole security system?
Start by assessing your existing equipment and the problem you want to solve. A targeted change may be suitable, but compatibility should be established before ordering products or arranging work.
Is a restricted key system the same as a master key system?
They address different needs. A master key plan determines which keys operate which locks. Restricted-key arrangements concern how additional keys are supplied and authorised. Discuss both requirements when planning a system.
Are all of these products available in the UK now?
Not necessarily. Announcements and delivery dates are different. The release notes above identify known timing; stock, supported models and installation requirements must be confirmed for your project.
